My Hair Dyer Died

DSC02251 Oh, I’m so sad. On Wednesday my beloved finally kicked the bucket. My hooded hair dyer just went kaput. Doesn’t she look sad in this picture? I understand it was her time to go but who will keep me warm on those Saturday evenings when I style my hair for the week. My dryer was a hand me down from my husband’s grandma so yes it was a little bit ancient as far as technology is concerned but for three almost four years she never failed me. But she’s gone. It won’t be easy to replace such a committed member of my hair regimen.

  1. Girl... I had this exact same thing happen to my dryer. Someone decided to take it and use it and next I hear it was blowing smoke, lol! Haven't done a wet set since :-/

  2. Try the 2nd hand stores. My sister found one for a quarter and it's been working for years! LOL

  4. I honestly didn't know that folks used dryers....I need to find one, then...I wash my hair then let it dry overnight........In the summer, the air is on and in the winter the heat is on......

  5. I have one I'd love to donate - now it's just taking up space in my closet, but still works great...but I'm in NY!

  6. Oh, hooded dryers give the BEST curl sets! So smooth and shiny. I've never owned a hooded dryer, but at the salon, those things were spectacular!

I still have my mom's ancient heating cap, though:-D Deep conditioning is not the same without it. I couldn't imagine losing her. I'm very sorry for your loss.

  7. OMG that looks like the exact same dryer my mum had in the 70's. Its really strong. I used it up to '96 when I went back natural. I gave it to my sister I must ask her if she still has it. Now I just let my hear dry naturally so that it stays curly.
