I think that's a big step for Tyra, considering that she's worn weaves etc... throughout her whole life. I think it's cool that she did that for her show and she's more interested in wearing her hair without the weave and wigs, getting underneath all that.
Wanted to add: especially since that goes against the grain of Hollywood, i think that says a lot about her...
I thought her show would be about perm or relaxer free hair. I was disappointed because that is so 10 years ago. My stylists back then were screaming natural or healthy hair. It was misleading! I would love a show about chemical free hair and have some celebs on and just regular girls sporting the best way to go. We are out here!!
I agree with Anonymous. I thought it was about chemical free hair. I was deeply disappointed.
I agree with Anonymous. I thought her "going natural" was going to be her going natural. Hopefully this is a start for her and she will begin to make that change. I love that I see so many girls now sporting the fros and twists and just are very natural and have made it a part of their fashion statement. That is true beauty. Hopefully she will feature artist and celebs with chemical free hair this season. We'll just have to wait and see.
I dont really thinks its brave or a big step to show everyone your real hair,I really dont understand why everyones applauding tyra for doing what millions do everyday regardless of the "hollywood industry"
I think Tyra is up on things. She wasn't truly ready to show her unprocessed hair to the world yet. I also think when she appeared in the cornrows, her hair was NOT permed! Tyra has climbed to the top of the beauty ladder in a white beauty industry, and just was not ready, ladies. She has to keep up appearances, even as she tries to be true to herself. The FRESH perm was a good compromise. Knowing Tyra, she may go all the way some day soon. That little girl who loved her Hanna Montana blonde wig really affected Tyra! Stay tuned!
tyra has good length.
I will admit, I was shocked to see how healthy her hair was considering that she wore weaves for so long.Natural or not, it looked good, and that's all that mattered to me.
I've gotta admit I was disappointed but only because the term "natural hair" was the word that was used over & over in connection with her reveal. I thought she was going chemical-free. Naturallycurly.com even sent out supporting tweets on twitter...I think many of us were under the same assumption.
